The Distinguished Alumna Award is given by the Alumnae Council to honor an alumna who embodies the core values of the School: respect, integrity, kindness, and service; and has honed a passion that she discovered while at Foxcroft School and is sharing it with the world.
A Foxcroft alumna should be nominated for her expertise and accomplishment in her profession, her contribution of positive, long-lasting change within her community, and her engagement with Foxcroft. Distinguished Alumna Award nominees lead and inspire others. Possible benchmarks for nominees include any of the following:
-
she is/has been a pioneer in her field;
-
she is/has made an outstanding contribution to her field of interest;
-
she is/has received local and/or national recognition of achievement;
-
she is/has demonstrated dedication through length of service;
-
she is/has demonstrated interest and concern in civic-minded affairs;
-
she has given her time, talent and/or treasure to Foxcroft;
-
and she is/has served as a role model to others.
Each nomination will be considered for up to 5 years. After that, their nomination may be renewed. Self, peer, and Alumnae Council, may nominate individuals. Nominations are reviewed on a rolling basis. This is not an annual award, it is based on merit and inspired nomination. In selecting nominees, the committee seeks alumnae who will prioritize this stewardship role; and commit to the strengths, traditions, and values of Foxcroft.
